The Company
Hi, I'm Miya Domon! My goal for this company is to reach out to similar minds who love fashion and art but don't want to spend big bucks to feed massive corporations. I plan to encompass all my skills with art, fashion, make-up, and more. Whether that be by upcycling clothing, gathering commissions, or reselling, I aim to be an inspiration to other small businesses and the fashion industry as a whole, showing that it CAN be profitable to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Shop guilt-free while supporting a small business.
How did my brand come to be? Well, it all started off with me selling my old clothes on Vinted. I’ve always liked giving items I don’t use away to others who would be more appreciative of it. I loved the idea of customizing the packaging and making custom notes for each buyer. In all, I got addicted to personalizing packaging and trying to put a smile on other people's faces. "My focus wasn't on maximizing profit margins; I was comfortable making pennies on each item or even operating at a loss. All the nice interactions, comments, and reviews I got gave me a sense of pride. I started cross selling on other platforms because of these positive interactions.
I started buying other people's old clothes, thrifting, upcycling, and attaining deadstock. I’ve always been a heavy believer that someone's trash is someone else's treasure; heck, most of my clothes are thrifted. Living out my beliefs and passions is what brought this opportunity to life. A business set on providing customers quality experiences. The clothing, textile, make, and fashion markets today are super overpriced and focus on profit and quantity over quality. I want art to be accessible to everyone. Fashion is central to self-expression, a vital component of personal identity.
My brand reflects both my personal style and a commitment to affordability. Well-known fact: they don’t make clothes like they used to. I wanted to address how extremely hard it is to find clothing nowadays that caters to gothic fashion and its subgenres, especially when searching for alternative fashion that isn't fast fashion. Fast fashion is thrown out fast, made fast, and done unethically. I want to provide these clothes a second life, especially because when it comes to fast fashion, we shouldn’t take anyone's work for granted. People all over the world do backbreaking work on our clothes for pennies; the least we can do is give new life to a textile that took away a part of someone.
Who Am I?
I’m someone who loves art in all its forms, animals, biology, and learning. I’m currently studying to become an elementary school teacher getting my BA in Liberal Studies. I graduated at 16 and as a first generation college student got my AA in Elementary Education from Chaffey Community College at 18. I grew up and was raised in Southern California. I stuck around to go to Cal State Fullerton full time. Always being a part of the student council, I felt the need to join many different clubs to aid in making my University a better, more welcoming place. I'm part of the ASI street team, SAAAS co-director of events, and TFT. I also work part time as an on -call substitute para-educator for Amergis. In my free time I play games, talk to my friends, draw, read, and scroll through TikTok like any other 19 year old.. All profits go to my efforts towards school!
